What is a Hearing Loop System?

Hearing Loops Systems are a type of hearing assistance technology (HAT). Hearing Loops transmit audio signals such as speech or music via electromagnetic waves. T Coils in our hearing instruments and cochlear implant receive the audio signals wirelessly and we hear clearly and effortlessly. Hearing Loop Systems are made up of:

• A sound source, such as public address system or television
• A hearing loop amplifier
• Copper wire that is places at the periphery or throughout a seating area

Public facilities utilizing Hearing Loop Systems include performing arts centers, museums, theaters, houses of worship, classrooms and airports.
