Hearing Access, Hearing Loops & Good Customer Service
I am frequently asked about hearing access/accommodations required, under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), for small businesses. Of course, hearing loops came up in a recent conversation with one business owner as they are the only hearing assistance technology (HAT) that is directly hearing device compatible and does not require the use of a receiver for any type of communication, including transient encounters, for individuals with hearing loss who use hearing devices with T-Coils.
In doing a little research I found a great resource to help small business owners provide access to individuals with varying activity limitations (disabilities) – including hearing loss. I’m sharing this short informational document to educate small business owners who are sincerely interested in providing good customer service to all of their customers.
