Recent Hearing Loop Installations in the United States

Question: Should a hearing health care professional not fit to patients with hearing instruments with T Coils because hearing loops are not a reality in their community?

Although individuals may not have the opportunity to enjoy the benefit of hearing loops in their own community people who live with hearing loss have the ability to travel and may have the opportunity to enjoy hearing loops in other communities, cities and countries.

Regardless of how hearing health care professional feel about hearing loops and T coils it is still important to educate individuals who live with hearing loss about all types of hearing access so patients can live well with hearing loss.

Hearing loops continue to be installed across the US and other countries. A few notable installations were brought to my attention. Individuals who live with hearing loss can now enjoy hearing loops in the following facilities and venues:

The Centennial Hall in Colorado

Menomonee Falls Public Library in Wisconsin

GracePoint Church in Lakeland, Florida

Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Steppenwolf Theater in Chicago

SUNY Oswego’s Tyler Hall in Oswego, New York
