Hearing Loops Systems: Meeting the needs of guests and patrons who live with hearing loss.
Improving access to communication can be life altering for individuals who live with hearing loss. Hearing instruments and cochlear implants work best in quiet environments and hearing assistance is needed in difficult listening environments. In difficult listening environments (libraries, lecture halls, ticket windows, conference rooms, airports, museums, worship facilities, etc.) it can be frustrating and exhausting for someone who lives with hearing loss to follow conversations, lectures or enjoy music. Hearing loops systems, a type of hearing assistance technology, improves access to wirelessly to T coil equipped hearing instruments and cochlear implants. Other types of hearing assistance technology (Infra red and FM systems) require all users to wear a receiver. In a hearing loop, users access the T coil program in their hearing instrument or cochlear implant and gain access to auditory information wirelessly. Hearing loops systems are an invisible solution to an invisible health issue (hearing loss). Hearing loops reduce barriers to communication and improve quality of life by providing hearing access in a dignified manner. There are a variety of applications for hearing loop systems.
